Papillion Breed Overview
The Papillion is fine boned, small, energetic dog that is also widely known as the Continental Toy Spaniel, as well as Dwarf Spaniel. It contains straight long coat and it doesn’t have an undercoat. The most beautiful feature of Papillion is butterfly eyes along with long hair.
Their body is medium in length and feathering colours fore and rear of hind legs. It contains distinctive tail that is also feathered. It is considered as one of the most beautiful lap dogs.

Their height can go up to 28 cm and weigh up to 5 kg.

Origins of Papillion
The Papillion descended from Asia as the toy breed similar as Japanese Chin; however, some experts think that they are only miniature versions of European Spaniels that crossbred smaller dogs. The ancient origins were finally established by the 13th century in the Europe.
There are many artworks where Papillion is featured from Goya, Toulouse-Lautrec, Rembrandt as well as others.
It was the favourite dog of high society and the mainly Spain was responsible for its popularity.

Papillion is an intelligent dog with only one wish – to please their owners. They are very easy to train and to motivate them to follow command by using a reward. You have to understand that they have lots of energy, so it is best to have a bigger house than a small apartment.
