Border terrier Breed overview
The Border terrier is a small, fearless and powerful dog that loves to dig and hunt. It is not well known in Australia, but all owners enjoy its high energy, good nature, loyalty, and intelligence. This particular breed has dense and short undercoat with lots of wiry top coats. You can rest assured because Border Terriers don’t shed lots of hair, which means that it is suitable for different allergies.

Origin of Border terrier
The Border Terriers come from the country between Scotland and Northumberland. It is related to other terriers from that area such as Dandie Dinmont Terriers and Bedlington Terriers.
The first breed was made at the end of 19th century at the Bellingham show. In the 1940s it appeared in Melbourne.
Border terrier Temperament
They are very easy to train with steady and regular training it may lead to a very good and well-trained dog.They are perfect for big families and a great companion for children. Like other terriers, you have to create their own consistent training in order to get them into the shape.
It is important to teach them everything from a young age because later they become more independent.
Common Border terrier Diseases & Conditions
Hip Dysplasia – This particular condition is where hip joint doesn’t fit with tight bone properly. That could cause lameness and pain. It could be treated with medications, but in most cases ends with surgery.
